thank you, very helpful, excellent video! Just saved me $300.00 from this company i called out and sent away. Thank you again, recommend this to everyone.
Well once you watch these video’s it’s really a simple thing. If you try to do this without watching the video’s you’ll likely hurt yourself. Many thanks for the clear and simple instructions – it was just what I needed to adjust the spring of the door.
professional indeed!
Thank You. I am doing some research. I can tell this is a 1 to 3 hour job. Im a female and will be hireing someone to do this work. I dont want to be ripped off. Where do I order the springs?
This was an excellent instruction. I bought my spring for $45.00, The winding rods I got at home depot for $7.00…it was a 1/2 inch steel pole that was 36 inches long. I just cut it in half. This saved me over $150.00…my door works great now. One of the best you tube instruction videos out there. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
Before watching this, me and Dad attempted to put the cables on the pulley by winding the rod with the spring beforehand, (cables came off the pulley). By reversing the final steps, we got the cables on the pulley with MUCH less hassle and frustration. Thanks for the vid.
Thanks bro. This video saved me lots of money. To bad this video does have a donate button.
Thank you so much for producing this video. Our torstion spring broke today on our garage door. Our door has the same measurments as the one in your video except ours is made of aluminum and only has a single right hand spring. This door is the only door in the front of the house & is our main way in & out, This probably explains why it failed when it did. The spring on ours looks like the same in this video but I checked HD and they didn’t have em. Thanks again… Joe in Sacramento.
The word Excellent is an understatement! I created an account just so I could thank you for this extremely helpful series. Believe it or not, my local companies were trying to charge anywhere from $400 to $1000 to replace two springs. I watched this series, purchased two high quality springs (30k lifecycle) and two binding bars for $120. It only took about 2 hours and eveything works perfectly!!!!
Thank you very much! Simply perfect instructions.
dude! you are the man!!
I was intimifated by the warnings of injury, but after watching your video several times carefully, I was able to adjust the spring tension and get my garage door opener working again. saved me $125 on a service call and you explained everything very clearly even I could follow what you were doing.
Thanks
Thank you for these videos
Excellent explanation !! Are there any precautions to avoid risks ?
Habpro, thumbs up for your videos. I have to balance my garage door, which is the exact same type like yours. Two springs, segmented door, 7 feet tall. Do I have to unwind the springs completely, and then rewind like the way you did? Or is there a short cut? Thx.
excellent explanation and easy to follow. i liked the quick tips as well.
THANK you so much!!!!!!!!!! It works perfectly!! I couldnt believe I fixed it myself (with your help)
please check your cables before you install the new springs, if there’s any damage at all replace them!
one thing every video i’ve seen doesn’t tell ya is that you should check the cables for any type of damage and replace as needed, but thanks for these videos, i converted mine over , to center type springs,
I saw a few DIY on garage spring door repairs and this one is the best. Very nice presentation. Two thumbs up! Thank you.
Thanks for posting this video. I had to repair part of my garage door, which meant redoing the springs. Your instructions were invaluable!
Great job!
Great video with excellent instructions. I could not have done it without your video. Saves me big $.
I just replaced my Torsion springs about 20 minutes ago with success! I found my springs on amazon for $75. I just followed the steps on the video. I was a bit nervous when it got to the winding up portion, kept thinking about what if the bolts weren’t tight enough and everything just popped off. It ended up being a huge success and I am proud to call myself a continued Do It Yourself guy.
Great video! Straight forward and easy to follow. Thank you for posting.
After looking around and checking this was the best explanation and instruction I found.
Good job. I did it the same way, follow this instruction and you can’t go wrong.
@furqaan99 I had this happen and found I had the springs on backwards one of them bunched up, I then double checked the right/ left hand twist and reized I had them backwards after fixing this all was great. right hand twist goes on the left side facing garage door from the inside and the other one goes on the left but check and make sure it is left hand twist. hope this helps.
Awesome. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
